SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
STUDENT WORKER’S AID POLICY
EBCS is committed to help students who come to be trained and study but do not have sufficient means to support their training thru the Student Workers’ Aid Policy. The program is in partnership with various donors, supporters, and friends who give generous support to help these students.
To ensure that the use and utilization of the donations shall be maximized, a policy is set in the granting of aid to a student who applies for Student Workers’ Aid.
The following are the provisions:
1. ON NUMBER OF UNIT LOAD.
The student worker must be a FULL-TIME student — that the student should be enrolled with at least a minimum unit load of 18 units.
2. ON CLASSIFICATION OF AIDS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR GRANTEES. There are different classifications of Student Workers and the aid given as well as the qualifications in the granting of the aid.
A. FINANCIAL AID -A
Privileges:
a. That as part of the financial grant, the grantee shall enjoy the privileges of having Free Tuition & Miscellaneous;
b. That he/she shall have a Free Dormitory, excluding charges on appliances & gadgets.
Qualifications:
a. Preferably at least a SOPHOMORE student;
b. Financially needy, as assessed and deliberated by the Scholarship Committee;
c. In character and in academic performance, the student must portray excellence; has a GPA of at least 2.75 of the preceding semester;
B. FINANCIAL AID – B
Privilege: The grantee shall enjoy the privilege of Php14,000.00 Financial Grant.
Qualifications:
a. may be awarded to any student;
b. financially needy, as assessed and deliberated by the Scholarship Committee;
c. personally chosen and recommended by the donor/sponsor.
d. in character and in academic performance, the student must portray excellence; has a GPA of at least 2.75 of the preceding semester;
C. FINANCIAL AID – C
Privilege: The grantee shall enjoy the privilege of Php7,500.00 Financial Grant.
Qualifications:
a. may be awarded to freshmen and to any student;
b. financially needy, as assessed and deliberated by the Scholarship Committee;
c. personally chosen and recommended by the donor/sponsor.
d. in character and in academic performance, the student must portray excellence; has a GPA of at least 2.75 of the preceding semester;
D. FINANCIAL AID -D
Donation from a donor with fix and specific amount to be restricted to the account of the chosen/recommended student, which may cover:
- Free Tuition & Miscellaneous, Dormitory Fee & Food Allowance, but with the limitation that such can only be given subject to the amount sent/appropriated by the donor or sponsor.
Qualifications:
a. may be awarded to any student;
b. financially needy, as assessed and deliberated by the Scholarship Committee;
c. personally chosen and recommended by the donor/sponsor.
d. that a passing grade in all subjects must be maintained.
3. QUARTER TIME WORKER’S AID
Privilege:
- The student worker shall receive a P30.00 for every hour of work rendered which shall be applied to the student worker’s outstanding school fees, or may be computed and released for the grantee’s food allowance.
Qualifications:
a. may be awarded to any student;
b. financially needy, as assessed and deliberated by the Scholarship Committee;
c. that a passing grade in all subjects must be maintained.
Counterpart
- A student worker is only allowed to work in a maximum of three (3) hours from Monday to Saturday, and shall comply with other stipulations in the proper monitoring of work accomplishments (DTR);
- required to attend student workers’ meetings called either by the Scholarship Committee Chairman, GSM, or the Student Workers’ Supervisor;
4. ON CONTRACT AGREEMENT.
The student worker shall sign a Contract Agreement that he/she fully understood the specifications: 1] Privileges, 2] Qualifications & 3] Counterpart of a Student Worker.
5. ON THE RENEWAL OF THE AID.
The aid is given for one (1) semester and subsequent grant is subject to review and deliberation by the Scholarship Committee.
6. ON TERMS AND CONDITION OF THE GRANT
- Student’s Counterpart:
- Display good character and academic performance and must portray excellence; has a GPA of at least 2.75 in a given semester.
- Render at least an hour of work daily (total of 5 hours from Monday to Friday) and 2 hours on Saturday.
- Always record work accomplishments in his Daily Time Record (DTRs) and have it confirmed/approved by your immediate assigned supervisor by affixing his/her signature in your DTR immediately (during the day or an allowance of until the next day only). Submission of DTRs to the Student Worker Supervisor shall be every Monday.
- In any case, wherein work cannot be rendered, he shall immediately inform he immediate work supervisor by letting him/her sign in his DTR.
- That in case the student fails to comply with the preceding provision, the committee shall evaluate his performance and may grant a prorated scholarship aid.
- Required to attend EBCS activities such as Prayer Meetings, Prayer & Fasting, Morning Watch, EMS, Chapel Services, etc. This also includes all other Academic Activities.
- Attend student workers’ meetings called by the Chairman of the Scholarship Committee or the Student Workers’ Supervisor.
- To balance work and study exemplifying the institution’s core values of servant leadership and educational excellence.
Other Provisions:
- That this grant is to be renewed every semester by the sponsor through the school, of which renewal is subject for evaluation and deliberation by the Donor and the Scholarship Committee;
a. Scholar with Incomplete (INC). A student under the program with INC (Incomplete) class standing will be evaluated.
- If he fails to take the final examination or fails to complete other subject requirements due to severe illness or other valid reasons, the grant will be retained the following semester. However, he must comply with all the provisions for the removal of the INC with a passing grade of at least 2.75 within the prescribed time (one academic semester).
- If he gets an INC status due to negligence, the grant is reduced to 50% for the next semester. The grant will be released only if he complies with all the provisions for the removal of the INC with a passing grade of at least 2.75 within the prescribed time (as decided by the scholarship committee).
- If he fails to comply with all the academic requirements within the prescribed time and shall receive a failing grade, refer to the provision on “Scholars with F Grade.”
b. Scholar with Failed (F) Grade
- The grant is forfeited for the next semester. Reinstatement to the program is based on the evaluation of the committee. After the one (1) semester without INC and F grades, and with a grade of at least 80% in all subjects. A full scholarship shall not be granted upon reinstatement.
2. The grant may be forfeited if he is found delinquent in his work and has incurred major violations in the school’s Student Handbook, as agreed upon by the committee’s recommendation to the donor.

4. Under a certain circumstance, if the Division of Student Services/Disciplinary Committee decides that the student will be sent home for a major violation, both parties should agree on the computation and approach of the grant.
7. ON WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM THE SCHOOL
The school is expected to:
- Provide supervision of the performance and adherence of the student to the Student’s Aid Policy and Guidelines through the Scholarship Committee.
- Issue an Acknowledgment Letter with the attached Official Receipt every time support is received.
- Send a Scholarship Update/Report a month after the official end of the semester, including the Student Testimony and Report of Grades.
- Communicate to the sponsor if the student is found delinquent in his work, has incurred major violations in the school’s Student Handbook, and under a certain circumstance, if the Division of Student Services/Disciplinary Committee decides that the grantee will be sent home for a major violation.
- Orient the student and their parents/guardian on the Scholarship Policy and Guidelines (as stated below). The student will sign a Statement of Commitment, signifying he understood and is willing to abide by the policy and guidelines.
